- Interview a local REALTOR ® to determine the current market value of your home and the marketing strategy for selling your home
- Prepare your home for sale when the timing is right for your goals
- Sign a listing agreement with your chosen REALTOR ®
- Start the marketing preparations, including property photos, video, noting the best features of your home, attaching a lockbox and having a for sale sign installed
- Your REALTOR ® will then process your photos and video, write the marketing description for your home, prepare property flyers and begin posting your home on the Internet sites they advertise on (including the Multiple Listing Service), include your home in local advertising venues, arrange for a REALTOR ® tour, set up open house dates and times with you, and begin answering calls and inquires regarding your home
- You will be given some disclosure paperwork to fill out in preparation for when your offer comes in
- You will want to keep your home looking clean and ready to show at all times and be prepared for other agent calls to schedule showings for their buyers
- You should be in regular contact with your agent regarding buyer and agent feedback and any changes in market conditions that may affect your pricing or position in the market
- Your agent will continuously monitor your showing activity, marketing, and pricing until your home sells
